First and foremost, I would like to thank LoYAC for providing me with such a wonderful opportunity. I can safely say that the one month I spent at IFAD tops my list of the most useful and enjoyable internships I have had thus far in my life. Such a decision is only aided by my surrounding environment. Experiencing first-hand benefits of collaboration with people who are culturally different than me and witnessing the diversity of perspectives in various situations distinguishes this internship from the rest.
The division I worked in, Near East and North Africa, was really great. My supervisor and colleagues were really helpful, kind and welcoming. On my first day, I was absolutely clueless. Yet day by day, they devoted much of their time to help me make my internship easy and comfortable. Everyday I was acquiring new information and understanding the IFAD system and concepts. It is quite unfortunate that I had to leave the moment I understood everything and went about the tasks with ease. Yet hopefully I will have other opportunities to stay longer in the future.
