LoYAC offers the opportunity for students, mostly from East Amman, to improve their linguistic abilities to prepare them for future employability in the local market.

The two-month English course is designed to empower young students by giving them opportunities to strengthen their English language skills. Based on the monitoring and evaluation of LoYAC’s Internship Program, it was apparent that a poor command of the English language is an obstacle for students entering the job market. In cooperation with community service centers, interns are required to participate in 18 hours of community service on their weekends during the period of the course.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES:

• LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT: Improve student's English linguistic abilities to become effective business communicators and prepare them for summer internship courses and future employment.
• ENTER JOB MARKET: English is essential for businesses in all fields and having a good command of the English language increases a fresh graduate's chance of employment in the Jordanian market.
• GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY: Enrolled internship students are required to participate in community service and give back to their communities during their weekends.

ACHIEVEMENTS :

In 2010, 118 students (between 16-24) years took the placement test at Sight and Sound. 50 students passed and were enrolled in two English language courses for the chosen levels. During the course, LoYAC organized field visits to monitor and supervise students’ progress at each level.
