On Saturday March 26, 2011, twenty two students, from the advanced life skills program, designed and planned for an initiative to adopt an area at al Hashmi Shamali. The students met with the principal from UNRWA school to ask permission to paint murals, greet the workers at the school, and conduct a small orientation about selected collage majors at universities. The idea of the initiative came from the students themselves.
