Under the patronage of Farah Pandith, the Special Representative to Muslim Communities for the United States Department of State and on behalf of the US president Barak Obama, LoYAC-K4K hosted a three day exhibition held on 27th-29th October displaying special photographs from real life experience in Kenya.
“Kenya through my Heart” was an exhibition event, showcasing photographs of Kenya taken by Amna Hussain during the K4K trip in July 2009. The event was first of its kind and highlighted the prevalent situation in Kenya and the ongoing goodwill initiatives of K4K.
The distinctive and vivid photographs were auctioned for sale, in which the proceeds were intended to fund the K4K projects for the upcoming year. K4K’s 2010 projects will include supporting the Mombassa Youth Counseling Center (MYCC) and performing various community services such as teaching in schools, building classrooms and donating other school facilities.
