The “We Build 2012” program is a month long residential program in India for students between the age group of 19 – 28 years. The program this year will run from 18th July to 18th August. The students will be building homes for the poor in suburb of southern India with a chance to earn academic credits.
The program provides the opportunity to participate in interactive sessions with experts in Indian culture, tour to historical places, visiting children’s homes & art galleries.
Apart from the field work, you will also be given a chance to attend yoga classes, witness traditional boat race and also sunset cruise at backwaters. The program also includes a short trip to the famous city of Cochin, where you will visit the famous Cochin fort and Chinese fishing net. The participants can get involved into various indoor and outdoor sports activities. The hard work is rewarded with social time to explore southern India by visiting markets and short travel by road and rail.
This program is designed to provide students with an outstanding opportunity to explore and learn. The cost of the program is subsidized by LOYAC.
