Our History

LOYAC was founded by a group of committed women in Kuwait as a proactive response to the violence that shook the world in September 11, 2001. The founding members of LOYAC recognized that youth can be led towards peace by providing them with opportunities for personal growth, experiencing the joy of service and developing their professional skills through on job training internships that builds self confidence. Embracing peace as its prime awareness message, the group set about formulating programs and activities that will help them achieve their stated objectives.

LOYAC runs several programs for the youth to develop their professional skills, enhance their personal growth and to help them find their sense of purpose by extending themselves to others. Since LOYAC's inception in 2002, LOYAC has grown to be the first choice of the youth in Kuwait when it comes to innovative and high quality programs. LOYAC was able to engineer several paradigm shifts in the Kuwaiti community by introducing youth as young as 6 years to community service and emphasizing on the importance of service oriented jobs in restaurants and hotels. In response to the needs of the youth beyond the boundaries of Kuwait, LOYAC opened its first chapter abroad in Jordan in 2008. This was followed by the creation of additional chapters in Lebanon in 2009, and Yemen in 2015.

In Lebanon, LOYAC runs two major programs: Personal and Professional Development Program and Global Outreach. Both programs offer youth opportunities to develop their professional skills and enhance their personal growth, while extending themselves to others. For most people, youth are the future. For us at LOYAC, youth are the present before being the future. NOW, we believe, is the time to empower them, NOW is the time to help them move forward with their lives.
